Paid to surf programs

How do they work?
Briefly, a paid to surf program, pays you to let a window of your browser display some
webpages (that others have payed to advertise). The logic seems very simple.
With advertising being one of the most sold service on the internet, publishers and advertisers always struggle to find as many attractive ways as they can to sell their products or services, so the idea of paying visitors to watch specific websites (without even having to type the address) could work.

The down parts
The golden rule that applies for every method of making money online is that if something looks to good to be true it probably has some hidden aspects. The main thing that you should know is that every program like this has a limit of websites that you can visit a day so don’t think of quitting your daily job just yet, because the earnings you will get after going through this will be insignificant.
The only way to generate some revenue from this is to convince people to join that specific program as your referrals.
If you have a lot friends that are willing to try this you may consider giving it a try. To make a decent profit you must be able to convince at least 4 people to join that paid to surf program, and each one of them must be able to bring another 3-4 to sign under their name (depending on what paid to surf program you are using, you should be able to generate a profit of about 450-700 usd a month in this case); and you should be able to do this every month.
It is all based on a MLM system like Avon, Herbalife and pay per click programs.
Even if it may seem easy at a first glance, if you have been working in a similar system before you know that it is quite difficult to people that will be committed to the program and find others themselfs.

Things to be careful about

Be sure that you do a research to see what’s the reputation of the paid to surf program that you are considering joining. You can do this following the indications I gave in 6 things to check before joining a pay per click program article on this blog. In this case it is even more important to check those steps before joining a paid to surf program, especially because it involves downloading and installing specific toolbars which may contain viruses or trojans that can cause you a great deal of unpleasent surprises.

A little bit of history
Although I have heard a lot of people saying that this concept is quite new, it is not at all like that. Some time ago (in the 90’s) there was a company who made a lot of waves (the company name was AllAdvantage). There were a lot of people that made some decent money online with their aid, but in the end they went down, since they arrived to a point where they couldn’t pay their members.
Since than, there were many other smaller companies that appeared; some of them were able to stay in the business but most of them disappeared as quick as they appeared

My personal take on this
As far as I am concerned, I am not a big fan of anything that is based on a MLM system, mainly because eventually there will be a lot of people that will generate spam due to their desperate need to find more referrals and let’s not forget about mini-websites filled with overstatements, lies and fake testimonials telling users how rich they can get with their systems.
But again, if you are a “popular” person and know a lot of people, paid to surf programs could work for you.

6 things to check before joining a pay per click program

Pay per click programs, are probably one of the most accessible method to make money online due to the simplicity of the procedure; almost anyone can do it without any special education or training involved. Unfortunately, in the past years the reputation of pay per click programs has been going down because there are more people that are trying to take a shortcut to richness by cheating (from both parts - site owners and users), so in order to avoid a possible disapointment, try check the following points before joining a pay per click program:
1 - If they tell you that you will be payed with more than 20 cents per click it is probably a scam (a lot of people may consider even this sum to be too high)
2 - Never trust a program that has a website hosted for free. Any legitimate business can afford their own domain name and webhosting
3 - Do a search on the internet to see if you can find people that are sharing an experience regarding that specific ppc program that you are considering joining.
4 - Make sure that the people that are saying positive things about that program don’t provide a referral link. If so, there is a possibility that they are only trying to convince you to join the program as their referral.
5 - Check on http://www.archive.org/index.php
to see how old is the site of that program and see previous versions of it. Naturally, older programs are more reliable than new ones (if they managed to stay in this business, they are probably not scams)
6 - Do a “whois” search to see who the owners of that programs are. Ideally, the info you find on that whois search is the same as the one in contact and copyright info of that specific pay per click program’s website.

Making money working from home - About pay per click programs

You may have heard about how other people make a lot of money online without actually selling anything. If you have not heard about the ppc until today than this might be a start for you. You may have probably received in your mailbox a lot of offers that invite you to join a certain pay per click program. If you are still not familiar with the term, pay per click means that a certain advertiser will pay you a certain amount of money (usually a division of a cent) to click on a specific ad. You may think that this is a scam but actually the concept behind this is real. If you are a webmaster you probably are interested in getting more traffic to you in order to sell advertising space for other advertisers. This of course would depend on how many visitors you will get a day/week/month. So if we put ourselves in the advertisers shoes, we would like to have tons of visits to our website monthly… and maybe some of those visits will turn into sales and make more profit… and so on.
Ok… enough about advertisers…. How can ordinary people that have no specific training make money out this? Just follow the concept! The many visitors you can generate for an advertiser the more money you can make. At the beginning, this strategy worked well; however, the last years it has become less and less profitable mainly due to two reasons: advertisers get a lot of traffic, but to little of that turns into sales because the visitors only click blindly on their website without actually reading the content, and second, the pay per click programs appeared and disappeared like mushrooms, so their credibility has taken a serious hit. Despite those facts, there are still programs out there that still work.
Basically when you join a program you will receive several links daily in your inbox and you will be payed when you click on them. It is good to know that you will be payed only one time for each link you click so you can not click on them all day long hoping you will make a fortune .The best part about them is that you can make money not only by clicking on their links, but also if a person will join their program at your suggestion, they will become your referral and you will also win a percentage of their income (their income will actually be the same no matter if they are your referrals or not; you will only receive a bonus from the program admins).
Even if what I have said above sounds very good, you can not actually earn too much out of this unless you will consider building a website and writing reviews of the programs that you are using in order to get more referrals. My personal suggestion would be to join a pay per click program for a week or so, see how much you made within that time and do some calculations to see how many referrals you will need to make a decent income out of pay per click programs.
In the end, I will say that I am not going to make any suggestions to a specific ppc program, because there is no hidden purpose of this article and I wouldn’t want someone to think that I am just doing this so I can get some more referrals myself.
